Understanding what is involved in the Snowsong Siberians & Cockapoos Guardian / Partner Home Experience.
We are often asked about our guardian / partner home program. While we are not currently looking for new guardian homes to partner with, we do want to take a minute to awnser questions we are asked. At Snowsong Siberians and Cockapoos, we believe every dog deserves a loving, forever home where they can be part of a family. That’s why our Guardian / Partner Home Program exists. It allows our breeding dogs to grow up in a warm, caring environment while becoming cherished family members in the homes of our trusted guardian partners.
Our guardian families are not just homes—we see them as true partners in our Snowsong breeding program. Together, we raise healthy, well-socialized dogs and provide them with the happiest lives possible.
What Is a Guardian Home?
A guardian home (or partner home) is a family that cares for and raises one of our Snowsong breeding dogs as their own. The dog lives with the guardian / partner family full time, enjoying all the benefits of being a beloved companion. When the dog is ready to be part of our breeding program, we coordinate with the guardian family for health testing, breeding plans, and puppy care.
This program ensures our Snowsong dogs:
Grow up in stable, loving homes
Receive one-on-one attention
Become well-adjusted family pets
Live the highest quality of life
This approach allows us to continue responsible, ethical breeding without placing our dogs in a kennel-based environment.
Being Part of the Snowsong Guardian / Partner Family
Guardian homes experience the unique joy of becoming part of our breeding journey. Many families love the opportunity to watch new puppies grow, and when we have a litter from a guardian dog, we often include the family in the experience. We work closely with our guardian / partner homes, offering continuous guidance and communication. From early puppyhood through adulthood, families can count on ongoing support, training tips, and answers to any questions that arise.
Health Care & Responsibility
At Snowsong Siberians and Cockapoos, we ensure all of our dogs and puppies receive proper care. This includes:
Regular deworming
Vaccinations
Appropriate veterinary checkups
Health testing required for breeding
While we handle all costs related to breeding, our guardian families are responsible for their dog’s routine veterinary care, general wellness, and a loving family environment.
Who Can Become a Guardian Home?
Becoming a guardian home and partnering with us at Snowsong is a rewarding experience—but it is not for everyone. Because we take our dogs’ well-being seriously, we have specific requirements for families participating in our Guardian Home Program.
Guardian families must:
Live within one hour of Clinton, Ontario
Welcome our breeder visits to their home when needed
Contact us immediately if concerns or health issues arise
Provide routine veterinary care
Maintain a safe environment, including avoiding dog parks
Be committed to responsible dog ownership
Communicate openly and stay in touch throughout the dog’s life
Avoiding dog parks is particularly important, as these environments can expose breeding dogs to illness, parasites, and unsafe interactions with unfamiliar dogs.
Because we are careful who we partner with, our guardain homes tend to be families that we have become friends with and have known previously.
